Our 4th workshop was coined “Fintech World Cup” as it was all about rugby in Japan at that time and we thought it would be great to have representatives of rugby nations to talk about fintech.
We had fintech companies from England and France, both of them providing alternative data. Dr John Ricketts of SignificanceSystems spoke how its
earth.ai model analyses social sentiment on the internet and can help buy/sell decisions for equities.
Alexis Berson of Kayrros introduced their solution which monitors and analyses satellite image of petrochemical assets helping energy traders but with potential wider usage of any investor with an interest in energy market movement.
This was followed by a group discussion involving representatives from rugby nation embassies (UK, Ireland, Canada, Australia and Scottish Development International) who spoke about the ecosystem and latest trends of the fintech market in their countries/regions.
There was also an award of rugby shirt and rugby ball, courtesy to the Irish Embassy to our participants who asked the best questions. We were delighted to host another world cup in Kabutocho.
